Site planning, hardscape and planting design for this retina/glaucoma research facility, a component later added to the Shiley Eye Center which opened in 1991. The design connects the new facility with the original Shiley building and the Anne F. and Abraham Ratner Children’s Eye Center. An expansion of the Shiley Center with a new building to the west, adding 50 per cent more clinical space to the original 26,000-square-foot center will allow all buildings to be unified with a new courtyard.
