An iconic, $20 million single-pier suspension bridge helped realize an old San Diego dream – linking the bay with Balboa Park. The 500-foot horizontal arch span, with offset suspension pylon, was a Centre City Development Corporation project. The bridge guides pedestrians 25 feet over heavily-trafficked Harbor Drive and adjacent railroad right-of-ways, and links a 2,000-space Port of San Diego parking garage with the Park Boulevard greenway and Petco Park.
